SweatTax Privacy Policy

SweatTax ("we", "us", or "our") is a workout accountability app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and any display name you choose.

Workout and plan data. We store the workout plans you create, scheduled sessions, and check-in records so we can track your accountability streak.

Location. When you check in at a gym, we request your device's precise location to verify you are within the gym's geofence. We store only a coarse record of the check-in (confirmed/not confirmed) — we do not continuously track or log your GPS coordinates.

Motion data. For at-home workouts, we sample the accelerometer to confirm physical activity during your session. This data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.

Progress photos. If you choose to take or upload progress pictures, those images are stored securely and are only visible to you. This feature is entirely optional.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store only a payment method token — we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or billing address.

Push notifications. We send you workout reminders and check-in alerts. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.

Usage data. We may collect basic analytics (e.g., app crashes, feature usage) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the SweatTax service
To verify gym check-ins using GPS geofencing
To send workout reminders and accountability notifications
To process missed-workout charges through Stripe
To display your progress pictures to you
To improve app reliability and user experience

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Stripe – to process payments securely
Supabase – our database and authentication provider, used to store your account and workout data
Law enforcement or regulators, if required by law

4. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Choices

Location: You can deny location permission. GPS check-in will be unavailable; at-home timer mode still works.
Progress photos: Entirely optional. You can delete any photo at any time from within the app.
Notifications: Disable in your device's Settings app at any time.
Account deletion: Contact us and we will delete your account and data within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

SweatTax is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted storage (SecureStore on-device, encrypted Supabase database) and HTTPS for all data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
